The SHIFT Program

SAFE | HEALTHY | INCLUSIVE | FAIR | TRANSFORMATIVE

The SHIFT Program is an evidence-informed, therapeutic, and structured one-on-one counselling and coaching series made up of 20 one-hour workshops. It can also be delivered as a group program for those from organisations wanting to make multiple referrals.

SHIFT focuses on developing introspection, emotional literacy, and emotional acceptance. It also involves practicing nonviolent communication, building safe and consensual sexual relationships, exploring healthy masculinity, and creating a personalised S.H.I.F.T. Plan, designed through collaboration to ensure you receive comprehensive support.

The development of executive functioning (EF) skills in adolescent males is a critical component in preventing dating violence and fostering healthy relationships. Executive functioning includes cognitive abilities such as impulse control, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and perspective-taking. SHIFT addresses these EF skills (essential for engaging in respectful relationships) as well as other underlying drivers of non-violent behaviour.

SHIFT integrates a range of experiential learning methods to create an engaging, reflective, and effective learning environment. These approaches are deliberately scaffolded throughout the program to help young men identify unhealthy relationship patterns, build emotional intelligence, promote accountability, and develop the skills needed to foster safe and respectful relationships.

This is a journey of personal growth which you will be supported every step of the way to better understand yourself and build fulfilling relationships.

At its core, SHIFT is about your values and what you stand for, supporting you to achieve this by breaking down the barriers that may be preventing you from forming safe and healthy relationships.

Intimate Partner Violence:

When conflict or control becomes part of a relationship, the effects can be devastating and long lasting for all involved. If you’re concerned about your behaviour or are facing legal consequences, Integrating Minds (IM) provides specialised counselling to help you  learn safer ways of managing relationships and emotions, by understanding yourself better.

IM offers structured, therapeutic support grounded in evidence-based practice to promote reflection, change, and respectful connection.
